How does the licence system work?
Enterprise Architect is distributed as a licensed product in accordance with the EULA. By purchasing one or more licences, you become a registered user and can:
Download and activate the latest full version of Enterprise Architect
Download the latest updates and builds for a duration of 12 months
Benefit from SparxSystems e-mail support for 12 months
Access to the registered user area with all resources for 12 months
Note: After the maintenance contract expires, you can work with your last version without restriction. You will only continue to have access to the latest builds and support if you extend your maintenance contract.
How can I order and pay?
To make it as easy and secure as possible for you to purchase our products, we co-operate with the well-known software retailer ShareIT/Digital River. This provider enables secure credit card purchases both online and by telephone. Invoicing is carried out by Digital River GmbH, based in Germany, so customers in Germany are charged VAT.

Renewal of the annual service contract
When the initial 12-month maintenance contract expires, the benefits for registered users and access to the latest builds and updates also expire. You can of course continue to use Enterprise Architect. With the extension of the maintenance contract, you will receive access to the area for registered users on our website for a further 12 months. The access data is contained in the licence file; you can check this online by entering your user ID. Overview of renewal fees.
At the beginning of the month in which the maintenance for your licence expires, you will receive an e-mail informing you that you can extend the maintenance.

Note: When you have purchased EA, you pay the price for renewing the maintenance contract for your licence. An extension of the maintenance contract only affects the number of licences purchased. Any additional licences must be purchased at the standard price of the desired edition.
A maintenance extension is only possible for licences for which the maintenance has not expired for more than 2 years. If the end of maintenance was more than 2 years ago, you must purchase a new licence if you want to use the latest version.
Upgrade the edition
You can upgrade the functionality of your EA Edition at any time by paying the difference between your current edition and the desired edition. An additional processing fee of 10 euros will be charged.
This option is only available to registered users with valid maintenance. If the maintenance is not valid, an extension of the maintenance contract must be purchased to upgrade the edition.
Note: An upgrade of the edition (e.g. from Professional to Corporate) does not extend your maintenance contract (renewal).
